Hummingbird

Wild for Birds

Option 1: April 2nd, 2022 9:30am-11:30am

Option 2: April 7th, 2022 10am-12pm

The landscapes we curate can make a significant contribution to the health and well-being of our feathered friends. Attracting and supporting birds rewards us in many ways including being able enjoy sweet moments gazing at all the different birds singing, perching, and flitting about – and knowing you’re contributing to the greater good of biological diversity. All it takes is incorporating a few design and maintenance approaches into your gardens and yards.

What we’ll do:

We’ll begin with a short talk going over the abc’s and then stroll through the demonstration gardens for an in-situ introduction to various garden features and particular plant groups that are highly valued by our local bird visitors. Bring your binoculars for some bird watching too!

Where:

At our private gardens a few miles from downtown Placerville. Directions will be provided once registered.

Who this workshop serves:

This is a beginning-level introduction or can serve as a nice refresher. Whether new to gardening with native plants, a recent transplant to the area, or a budding bird watcher, the broad concepts presented in the workshop will provide a good foundation and will apply to rural landscapes as well as suburban/urban settings.

Cost: $49
